This unique, one-of-a kind original watercolor by Beth Moorhead was painted in her Minnesota studio. The artist created this watercolor from a series of photographs taken on the north shore of Lake Superior, just north of Duluth, MN. This 12″ x 18″ painting was created using watercolors on d’Arches paper.

Learn more about this artists’ inspiration by visiting the Minnesota Historical Society’s famous lighthouse – Split Rock Light House in Two Harbors, MN. This well known Minnesota destination, was built in 1910 by the U.S. Lighthouse Service. Split Rock Light Station today is one of the most photographed and visited spots in the state, with a drama-filled history and breathtaking Lake Superior views.
While visiting the North Shore be sure to take a walk within the Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, which has 23 trails in the vicinity, including 19 hiking trails, 8 for walking and 17 for other activities. These trails range from 0 to 97.2 miles in length.
