European Style Birch Yule Log
Find joy and peace in the sun’s journey back to the north with this European styled Yule Log. Inspired by eGALLERi’s contributor Trine Stolbin, this Yule Log with solid copper fittings holds five thin candles vs. the traditional three so the log could also remind us of the great mother nature goddess. Naturally harvested, this log may be reused year after year, with the candle colors changing throughout the holiday season. Red thin dipped candles included. Made in USA. Made in USA.
How can you connect back to nature?
The Yule Log, an ancient symbol of the season, came to us from the Celts as a pagan observance and adopted later into Christina holidays, burned on Christmas Eve. The log is usually cut from an Oak tree and decorated with holly, mistletoe and evergreens. Incorporated into Winter Solstice celebrations the log itself is often not burned, but candles placed on it are lite for holiday occasions. Winter Solstice is December 21 or 22 in the Northern Hemisphere and is the shortest day and longest night of the year.
